BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the design, specification, selection, vendor design review, and services relating to heat exchangers including air coolers, shell and tube heat exchangers, plate and frame heat exchangers, and printer circuit heat exchangers, in the onshore and offshore oil and gas project.
The minimum qualification requirements for this position are a first degree in Mechanical Engineering and a full professional qualification as a Chartered Engineer (full member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or a recognised equivalent).
The required competency and skills would typically have been built up working for a consultant engineering company, equipment manufacturer, or end user company. Personnel would be expected to have a varied and extensive experience of process equipment applications in the onshore and offshore oil and gas project environment to include concept, front end engineering design, detailed design, commissioning, and operations.
A specialist and detailed knowledge of the major heat exchanger equipment types will be required. A good working knowledge of equipment design codes and the common design programs, including PVElite and HTRI is essential. Field experience in the manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and installation is also strongly desired.
Job success will depend on interpersonal skills and the effective interaction with others. Selected personnel will be highly competent in written and spoken communication and therefore be able to make effective presentations, and write technical reports including technical papers.
