Can you begin immediately and work for a full academic year?
An exciting opportunity has become available working within this good rated by OFSTED inspectors Secondary school in East London, Hackney. You will be working within the SEN department assisting using British Sign Language.
This is a full-time role starting immediately until July 2015 with a view to continue throughout September 2015.

The role: Graduate Teaching Assistant within SEN Department
* Graduates with experience of working with deaf students using British Sign Language are required to work 1:1 and in small groups across year 7-11, working in key stage 3 and 4.
* You will also act as a General Teaching Assistant within the classroom and carry out any additional duties such as assisting with classroom displays, lunchtime supervision and be involved in meetings to feedback to senior TAs of pupils educational development.
This is a much larger secondary school with a specialist unit for Deaf students. A high proportion of students have English as an additional language and those with specific educational needs is also above average.
The SENCO is seeking Graduates with some related SEN experience particularly working with deaf pupils. Any previous experience may include, teaching English as a foreign language overseas or within the UK, mainstream voluntary or paid teaching assistant experience, tutoring or mentoring experience.
All SEN and British Sign Language experience should be clearly listed on your CV for consideration.

This is an excellent role to gain further SEN experience if you are pursuing a role within Education or support work in the future!
