We are looking to recruit a number of experienced part time /full-time temporary administrative / Contact Centre staff to work at sites across the city.
*20 hour week
*Monday to Friday, flexible working time between 08.30 and 17.30
*Hourly rate starting at £7.85
*Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
*Experience with in an administration/ contact centre is desired
*Have strong interpersonal skills at all levels.

Purpose of Job
The research assistant will support the work of the Scottish Older People's Assembly (SOPA), its Committee and its business in raising the voice and experience of older people in Scotland to the Scottish and Westminster Governments. Support will also be provided to work undertaken by the Strategy Manager on other tasks within the team of Health and Social Strategy.
*Complement information gathered during 2014/15.
*Develop and implement a research plan from start date to 24 December 2015, including regular briefing of the SOPA Coordinator or her appointed representative(s). This is to include analysing; evidencing and reporting of activity
*Undertake the evaluation of local and national Assembly meetings.
*Use online research, surveys and telephone interviews.
*Analyse data and write succinct reports
*With support act as a research adviser to the Scottish Older People's Assembly and its Committee during the preparations for the main Assembly event on 5TH October 2015 and its reception event in the Scottish Parliament on 9th September 2015.
*Contribute to the project planning, risk register and contingency planning for the Assembly, operating as part of a small team of staff reporting to the SOPA co-ordinator, and any other relevant activities which may arise in the pre or post SOPA period.
*Monitor the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Government, Scottish political parties and other relevant websites such as COSLA, Institute of Fiscal Studies, Economic and Social Research Council, Age UK / Scotland for SOPA staff and committee.
*Prepare customised reports for staff and committee members ranging from daily alerts, to weekly and monthly reports.
*Report on relevant parliamentary and committee meetings for SOPA
When required, doing further research work for SOPA.
*Liaise with other researchers in older peoples' organisations throughout the UK, and
*Contribute to evaluation of activity and inputting to the final report on the Assembly and any post-project 'wash up' reports.
Knowledge and Skills
*A confident individual with good communication skills and the ability to comfortably meet people in small groups or one to one settings to undertake tasks and perform interviews.
*Have a background or interest in working in populations, demographics and /or planning research, public policy, politics and/or government and on issues affecting older people.
*Experience of working in parliament or government would be an advantage but not essential.
*Demonstrably good level of written and oral communication skills, literacy and numeracy.
*You will have experience of conducting research to a high standard, and the ability to work to deadlines.
*Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work
*Computer skills including excellent MS Office skills. A European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) would be desirable.
*Interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy for contacts with Committee members and partners.
*Ability to show adaptability and flexibility.
*Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality.
The Health and Social Strategy Team has six staff - one Health and Social Strategy Manager, two senior officers and three policy officers.
