To provide commercial management support to business units working out of Bristol, Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, and external clients offices
To maximise opportunities for MPS
To maximise opportunities and revenue within the Projects
Management and delivery of commercial management and quantity surveying services to both internal and external clients across a variety of infrastructure schemes.
Provision of support and assistance to others in the Major Projects Services team on a variety of cross sector schemes and commissions
To prepare monthly financial reporting of schemes fees
Skills Proven ability and track record in the majority of the following:
Quantity surveying and preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of rates, or other methods of work evaluation
Management of the Project Cost Report including VOWD and Forecast at Completion
Re-measurement and agreement of current workscope.
Agreement of VOWD with subcontractors and suppliers
Subcontractor and supplier payments
Identification, preparation and evaluation of claims including assessment of programme impact and evaluation.
Drafting of contractual correspondence.
Cashflow forecasts and updates.
Chairing regular commercial meetings with key delivery contractors
Active participation at client and project performance reviews
Active participation in regular review of project risks and opportunities to minimise outturn cost through Value
Engineering and maximise opportunities for improved returns.
*Earned Value analysis i.e. planned vs. achieved vs. expended.
*Productivity/efficiency analysis/calculation (dependent on Contract style).
*Proven capability of working in a collaborative working environment with a strong teamwork ethos
Qualifications & Experience
*HND/Degree qualified and/or working towards Membership of a relevant professional body (ICES/RICS/ACostE/CIOB)
*Minimum 15 years relevant experience
*Experienced in Highways construction in the UK preferred
*Experienced in the use of standard forms of Contract, in particular NEC.
*Multi Discipline Capability
*Good MS Office Skills
*Clean Driving Licence
*Excellent communication skills
*Ability to work in a team environment
*Additional Experience in one or more of the following sectors
oInfrastructure (highway/rail) maintenance
oOil and Gas / Petrochem
oPower and Utilities
