Learning Support Worker/Mentor - Farnborough
Prospero Teaching are working with an excellent Secondary School in Farnborough, Hampshire.
The School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational person to work as a Learning Support Worker/Mentor, on a Full time basis from January until July 2022 (with potential for a permanent contract depending on performance).
This is a highly rewarding role. The School are looking for individuals that are supportive, non-judgemental, patient, easy to talk to, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to pupils in a manner which encourages and supports them, enabling you to build trusting relationships.
You will be supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues, within the School. These pupils have found re-integrating back to School life very challenging and they are needing support, both with academic work and pastoral care.
Previous experience of working with young people is desirable. Experience with SEMH would be an advantage. A team player with patience, understanding and a willingness to develop is needed.
This role is ideal for graduates and aspiring teachers, looking to gain more experience before applying for teacher training. The School would like to hear from Support Workers, with care experience.
School hours are 8am to 4pm. Pay is negotiable.

Minimum rate of pay - £10.20 -£11 per day.To be eligible the 1:1 Learning Support Assistant must have:
C grade or higher in English and Maths at GCSE
Calm and nurturing approach
Personable
