Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Suspension. Engine mounts. Wheels and tyres. To provide an exceptional driving experience, every chassis component needs be honed to perfection. That takes all kinds of people, from designers to project managers.
As the Technical Manager, your vision will be to create a cultural change across Chassis Engineering where you’ll act as a catalyst to leverage and exploit the Virtual Engineering capability; ensuring the team uses industry leading methods and tools to develop chassis components, systems and attributes. This will enable the business to meet the challenges of our future electrified, connected and autonomous vehicles.
Working under the distributed virtual capability model as the manager for the Core Virtual Capability Group, you’ll be involved in ensuring alignment with the chassis virtual strategy, promoting best practice and agreeing the common virtual engineering processes and standards. That’ll mean working with the following teams who are also developing virtual capability: Suspension Systems Tuning, Suspension Systems Architecture, Brakes, Steering Wheels And Tyres, Suspension Systems Integration, Motion Systems, and Driving Dynamics.
Key to your role, you’ll develop and define the vision and strategy for the function by leading an overall aligned virtual engineering strategy. In addition, you’ll lead a small core team which will supplement the existing distributed Methods Development teams across Chassis functional groups, providing coordination and leadership in the delivery of methods, tools and processes. Not only that, but it’ll be your responsibility to create an engineering capability that supports the overall Chassis technical strategy; covering the development of tools, methods, facilities and engineering process which will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the virtual engineering process that are common across Chassis.
You’ll also work closely with other business and engineering functions to maximise cooperation, commonality and synergies throughout Jaguar Land Rover, and you’ll identify and recruit suitable expertise into the team to deliver the objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
As an experienced engineer and manager, you’ll have significant engineering application experience in an automotive environment and hold excellent leadership, influencing and project management skills. You’ll bring an in-depth knowledge of engineering delivery processes and design toolsets; such as CAD, CAE, design optimisation, product and technology creation development systems, design verification methodologies and virtual series. You’ll also show high levels of drive, flexibility and commitment, which will all be paired with an engineering degree.
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, private medical cover and performance related bonus scheme. As a manager, you’ll also be able to select one of our luxury premium vehicles to lease at a fraction of the cost. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
