We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor paying £45,000 to look after a structural steel companies contractual and commercial engineering tenders and projects. As a Quantity Surveyor you'll naturally manage costs relating to building and structural engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You'll minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
This role is office based, you will have huge autonomy and be involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work negotiating where necessary etc. When the project is in progress, you'll keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability etc.
Within this role you'll have the opportunity train junior Project Managers on commercial best practice, you'll be heavily involved in tender preparations and ultimately you'll form a key part of the team at the head office in Braintree, one of 2 main design/fabrications offices that they have in the UK.
So what do I need? Quantity surveying experience within complex engineering or construction/civil/structural. You'll have good knowledge of commonly used construction/engineering contracts and and hold fantastic communication skills. Ideally you will have a relevant certification in construction or a relating subject.
