I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS England for a Finance Assistant based in Liverpool. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 5 months with view to being extended thereafter.
In this role working as an Assistant to the Finance Manager you will:-
Play an active role in contract finance, to include supporting in the negotiation and performance management of contracts, to ensure the delivery of patient care within a limited resources envelope
Undertake accurate and timely month end and year end accounts, working on the NHS England SBS ledger system.
Work closely with budget holders to ensure a system of budget reporting is successfully introduced and maintained
Ensure that invoices are correct and paid promptly
Be involved in ad hoc projects to resolve issues that arise from the new commissioning arrangements.
Required Skills / knowledge / experience:
Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services.
Experience in communications and stakeholder management
Comprehensive knowledge of project management and/or health information systems development
Workforce development knowledge and experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project ECDL
Previous experience in similar role in public sector
A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to translate financial information into an easily understandable format
Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences.
